Oh, calm down please. Actually it's not a current topic at all! 17 years ago, John and Roger visited Japan for the promotion of 'The Works' and interviewed on lots of
magazines. I updated one of these interviews (see these photos: [1] and [2]) on Japanese page in which John told if he was to make a solo album, he would need a vocalist, and he thought Lionel Richie was the best, although he was too big to pay attention to him. Well John, I think YOU are big also!
