What's In? [Deaky-topics in this week]

Questions to Mr Hince : Nicknames

Q1: We fans know your nickname was 'Ratty', but why 'Ratty'? Who called you by such a nickname first? (some of us guess it's Freddie)
My nickname was actually an old one that got changed. When I was young (18) and working for Mott The Hoople, part of my job was to crawl around in the small gaps at the top of the truck, putting pieces of equipment in. The driver said that with my skinny body and long greasy hair I looked like a rat.
I became 'The Rat'
When I started working with Queen it got chagned to Ratty by Brian May.
Ratty is a character in a famous old childrens book: "Wind In The Willows"
So - there you are.......!

Q2: And how about John? Which name was he often called by? Just 'John'? 'Johnny'? or 'Deacy'?
John was called - John, or Deacy. He did have a couple of nicknames that only lasted a short time.

Q3: On the Wembley DVD, I paid attention to their rehearsal at the studio, where John had said something to staffs during the opera part of 'Bohemian', although other members hid themselves behind the stage. It's curious for me. During rehearsals, would he give some instructions more than others?
John didn't particularly give instructions - he was the quiet one!

Thank you Mr Hince, we always appreciate your kindness!

Thank you for reading! See you next week!
