John is called �gDeaky�h by the other three in Queen. He is the calmest, most punctual and reliable of the group. John actually began his musical career as a lead guitarist. During his days as a student he played in many groups. He studied electrical engineering-- a very useful field for someone in a rock band. In London, he heard that Queen was looking for a bassist, so he decided to try out at the spur of the moment. He has never regretted it�c
